Gyda thristwch mawr y cofnodir marwolaeth sydyn Mrs Ann Jones, Maesyrhaul, Cilycwm, gynt o Erryd ac estynnwn ein cydymdeimlad dwysaf i Brian a’r plant Kathryn a Hywel a’u teuluoedd.
It is with a heavy heart that we note the sudden death of Mrs Ann Jones, Maesyrhaul, formerly of Erryd and we extend our deepest sympathy to her husband Brian and children Kathryn and Hywel and their families.
Symudodd Ann i’r ardal 58 blynedd yn ôl. Bu’n weithgar iawn yn y gymuned a chafodd yr anrhydedd unigryw o ddal swydd Cynghorydd Cymuned ac yn ddiweddarach swydd Clerc y Cyngor. Hi hefyd oedd ysgrifenyddes gyntaf y Gymdeithas Gymunedol ac roedd hi’n aelod ffyddlon o Eglwys Cilycwm. Braint oedd adnabod Ann Erryd.
Ann moved to the area 58 years ago. She was an active member of the Cilycwm community and holds the unique privilege of having been both a Community Councillor and later a Clerk to the Community Council. She was also the first secretary of the Community Association and a faithful member of Cilycwm Church.
Details of funeral arrangements to follow.
To lose Ann Jones, Maes-Yr-Haul, formerly of Erryd farm, one of the quintessential pillars of the community, is a huge loss to everyone who was acquainted with her and our heartfelt condolences goes out to her husband, Brian, and their children, Kathryn, and Hywel and their families.
There would have been very few of us in Cilycwm who wouldn’t have been impressed with the detailed knowledge and understanding she had to be able to shed light on to anything which occurred in the area, and we are so much poorer with her departure.
If my memory serves me well, she was also a brilliant individual during her time as president of the Cilycwm W.I. In addition to the many fields she could contribute with her expertise and positive input.
My Very Sincere Condolences – A lovely Lady, who always made me very welcome as a part of the community !!
Such sad news. She was such a kind person, always active and involved. She will be greatly missed in the village.
In Friendship, Chris Robertson
