Below are the details of the Covid-19 Survey of Older People in Wales that was instigated by Cymru Older Peoples Alliance and that we have been working closely with Age Cymru to make a reality. It has issued today.

The main purpose of the survey is to ensure older people are engaged as to their views on their experience of the last 4 months and aspirations for recovery from the pandemic. This has clearly been an unprecedented period for older people (not ending yet) and it is important their voice is heard now and over the coming year when there are likely to be many economic and social difficulties emerging.
The survey will be circulated as wide as possible including to Forums, national organisations, age charities, local age organisations, Ministerial Advisory Forum on Ageing members as well as to the general public. It will be available through different formats including hard copy with freepost return. Letters submitting comments can also be sent to the Freepost address below.
We hope to get a substantial return to inform the findings that will help Welsh Government shape their response to Covid-19. We will make sure you see the final report of the findings. It is hoped to also undertake some qualitative work with older people’s groups as a follow up as well as potentially another survey.
Any help you can give to circulate the survey will be very much appreciated. We understand the difficulties that some 50+forums have in getting material posted or emailed at the moment so your support would be really valuable in getting the survey out to their members
